Wedding Chalkboards Part 2

Hello Ladies,

Hopefully everyone is having a wonderful weekend!
It is still brutally hot here in Atlanta but hopefully we will have cooler, Fall weather soon!

Hubby and I just finished our first total custom framed wedding chalkboard.

We have done many custom color framed chalkboards but we made this one from scratch...frame and all.

This board is huge at 76"!

It is for a November wedding in Connecticut and will be used to list the seating chart.

Here was our inspiration..

She wants two of these boards.  Needless to say you can fit a lot of names on just one of these boards, never mind two:)

I heart turning old unloved frames into beautiful chalkboards but being able to custom design any size is a great new challenge that I think could/should help our little business go to the next level.

Hello miter saw.....

We now can do any size, any color, and any finish.

Very excited about the possibilities.

Wedding Chalkboard

So I am in the wedding business....or sort of....

You see I make vintage framed wedding chalkboards.

Alot of wedding chalkboards

locally and through my Etsy shop.

Of course I sell other items; ornate mirrors, frame groupings, and some vintage items

but mostly chalkboards.

I take antique and vintage frames, and install custom made chalkboards for them.

These are perfect for wedding directionals, seating charts, menus, photo shoots, you get the idea.

I am slowly building my little business which is truly a labor of love.....

And gradually I am beginning to reach out to the wedding community and industry...

so imagine by surprise when through my Google alerts, I picked up a blog post about my ETSY wedding items on a wonderful wedding blog by wedding planner, Paige Galla of appropriately named Paige One Events!

I can't believe it!!!

My little shop made the front page of someone else's blog!!!

I am so proud!!!

Now I know this is nothing big for most of you;  But in my little world, and the fact that I just got started a few months ago,....THIS is a big deal!

All of my hard work and loooong days are finally starting to pay off:)

Anyway, i just wanted to share my big girl news with all of my friends.

Karen

The Silver Lining

Mr. Rubbish and I just finished a custom order for a silver metallic framed chalkboard.

I had no idea how beautiful this color would turn out to be...

It reminds me of the mirror at Brocade Home.

And mine..

I am very happy with the way it has turned out!

Vintage Eye Candy

Inspiration is all around us.

And for me, it's all about finding new ways to use old, tried and true vintage and antique items.

As all of you know, I am a sucker for ornate frames, mirrors, chalkboards, cameos, silhouettes...I could go on and on...

And  just when I think that I have seen these used in the most unique ways, I find a photo or a blog post that absolutely inspires and moves me!

I stumbled upon a wonderful wedding blog (by accident, I was searching for images, lol), Green Wedding Shoes and found the most beautiful vintage inspired weddings, and baby showers.

These ladies used vintage and antique items to create incredible events.

Sit back and enjoy this Vintage eye candy!!!

Now do you want to feel sick to your stomach?

Catie planned this whole thing in less than three months.  Unbelievable...

Here is her take on her wedding.

Any advice for those planning now?
I don’t know that I’m the person to give advice on this! My whole engagement was 3 months, with a very small budget in comparison with what the typical wedding costs. I spent the most money on the thing that was very most important to me which was photography. That was more than half my budget. The rest was all my friends and family.

Etsy is a wonderful place to find the perfect vintage items for a wedding or shower.  For example, check out my antique and vintage wedding chalkboards on Etsy!

Thanks for stopping by...

xoxo,
Karen
