Friday Finds Part 2

Hello Lovelys,

Today I am only going to give you a small snap shot of my finds for the week.

Not because I am hiding anything or being snobby...

Only because most of my finds have already been painted and sealed and no longer look like they did when I purchased them!

I am sure that many in the refined Antique business would be shocked that I take perfectly good vintage and antique items and paint them or add to them;

But that is what I do.

I have no shame.

In my little world, there is nothing more beautiful than taking something old, dusty and antiquated and making it fresh, modern and most of all.....

DESIRABLE.

Here's a few unloved items from this week...

How about this trophy and silhouette?   And this gorgeous antique photo which was stuck behind one  of the prints that I purchased...get this for the frame only!  That is why I love this business...you never know what little treasures you will find even when you are not looking:)

What did you find this week?

Happy Friday!

Karen

Booth Porn Part 2

Hello ladies and gents,

I am so behind on my posts...

I wanted to post a few booth shots from my Saturday at Scott's Antique Market two weeks ago..but I am just getting to them.

Sorry..
here are some of my favorites

That same day, after Scott's, I went by one  of my other favorite haunts, the Canton Street Antique Mall in Historic Roswell.

This is one of my favorite booths there..

Ok that's it for tonight.  Back to painting:).

Seeing White

I have a real soft spot for white ornate mirrors.

Now, I don't discriminate.  I love black, pink, yellow, and even gold ornate mirrors as well...but like so many of you out there in blogland...there is just something so pure and sophisticated to the color
WHITE.

White ornate mirrors can be used with so many different styles..
From a little girl's room to a cottage, to a glamorous high rise condo...
they really are so versatile.

I just added three new beautiful ornate white mirrors to my  ETSY shop.  Take a look...

Looking for a different color, send me a convo or email and I will send you a quick quote!

Thanks for stopping by!!!

The Silver Lining

Mr. Rubbish and I just finished a custom order for a silver metallic framed chalkboard.

I had no idea how beautiful this color would turn out to be...

It reminds me of the mirror at Brocade Home.

Theirs

And mine..

I am very happy with the way it has turned out!

Curtains as Slipcovers?

I love finding new ways to use everyday inexpensive items...

but Melaine of My Sweet Savannah  has taken this concept to a whole new level!

She took these

simple Ikea curtains,

which alone are cheap but she found hers at the Goodwill.

And used them to cover this little love seat

Yes you heard right...she used them as a slipcover!!!

I heart this idea!!!

If you haven't stopped by her blog before then you must head over there right now!!!

She just finished completely redoing her daughter's room while she was away at camp..

the redo is just beautiful and even has a candy theme!!!  Very original!

Anyway see the loveseat transformation and a sneak peak of the finished room.

and the finished product...

Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

Baby's 1st Birthday!!!!!

So my baby boy turned 1 today.

No not this boy....

who is now taller than me....

No I am talking about .........

my adorable fur baby!

This was him JUST a year ago when we brought him home...

who would have thought that this little cutie could do soooo much damage in one year...

chew up the side of our coffee table
pull off the doors of our kitchen cabinets (they were on the island)
chew up brand new phones
chew up homework....teachers did not believe this one...lol
chew up driver's licenses
chew up MP3 players

ahh I could go on and on....BUT I won't.

Because getting him a year ago was one of the best things that we ever did...

he took our mind off of our financial woes and made us laugh every day...

He was always happy to see us and always wanted to play...

he became part of our family..

And even today at 80 pounds and still growing, he still wants to be held in our laps,  ride in the car, and stands up at the door to watch us when we leave...

He has brought so much joy to our lives and I truly could not imagine a life without him..

Happy Birthday Brody!!!

Karen
